Raag Todi M.5

A Sikh with a fairly high avastha, pleads with God, to fulfill his wishes.

God I am the dust of Your Feet. (I revere Gurbani with utter humility); Beloved Lord, Merciful to the downtrodden, Who Fascinates my mind, by Your Grace, please fulfill my yearning (wishes).

“Prabh Tere Pagg ki dhuur; Deen Dyaal Pritam Manmohan kar kirpa meri locha puur.”(rahao).

O Ever Present Lord, In the ten directions Your Praises are pervading, O Inner Knower of hearts; those humble ones who sing Your Praises O Creator, do not ever die, nor grieve.

(deh diss is often used in Gurbani to mean everywhere. The ten directions are North, South, East, West, North East, North West, South East, South West, Up and Down).

“Deh diss rev rehiya jas Tumra Antarjamee sada Hajoor; Jo Tumra jass gaavhe Karte se jann kabho na marte jhoor.”

In Sadhsanggat all sorrows are removed together with worldly snares and entanglements of maya; Nanak says, all comforts of wealth and inner enjoyments are false, if the Lord is not present (in your thoughts).

“Dhandh bandh binsay maya ke sadhu sanggat mittay bisoor; sukh sampatt bhog iss jee ke bin Har Nanak jaane kurh.”
